Our Mission

Data as power. Intelligence as equity.

To generate the data, insights, and connections that transform Kenya's creative talent into sustainable economic power.

Our Vision

World-class infrastructure for African creatives.

A Kenya where every creative professional has access to world-class intelligence, opportunities, and representation.

Our Story

Born from a
simple question.

How much does Kenya's creative sector contribute to GDP? How many filmmakers earn a living wage? Where do grants go, and who could benefit most? These are the questions worth answering. Kenya's creative industries — music, film, fashion, gaming, visual arts, publishing — generate hundreds of billions in economic value, and we believe that value deserves to be measured, mapped, and amplified. With reliable data, policy gets sharper, investment gets smarter, and creatives gain a clear view of their own landscape.

Better data unlocks a virtuous cycle. Data powers advocacy. Advocacy shapes policy. And good policy helps an industry worth over KES 200 billion take its rightful place in national economic planning. The talent is already world-class — our role is to help build the infrastructure that lets it thrive.

That's why we're building Creatives.KE. We are not a media company, not a talent agency, not a co-working space. We are building a research and intelligence platform — one that generates the data, surfaces the opportunities, and informs the policy that Kenya's creative economy deserves. We work at the intersection of rigorous research and radical accessibility, turning complex economic analysis into tools that every creative professional, policymaker, and investor can actually use.

We're at the very beginning of this journey. The opportunity is enormous, and the work starts now.

What We Stand For

Five principles that will shape every dataset we publish, every opportunity we broker, and every policy brief we deliver.

Data Integrity

We publish only what we can defend. Our methodology is transparent, our sources are cited, and our analysis is peer-reviewed.

Creative Sovereignty

Creatives own their stories. We build tools that give power back to the people making the work, not extracting from it.

Pan-African Excellence

We measure ourselves against global standards while centering African realities. Our work is proudly Kenyan, unapologetically ambitious.

Radical Accessibility

Intelligence that sits behind a paywall serves the privileged. We design for the independent creative in Kisumu as much as the institution in Nairobi.

Policy Impact

Research without action is academia. We exist to change policy, shift budgets, and reshape how governments invest in creative talent.

Our Team

Creatives.KE is being built by a small founding team with deep roots in research, policy, and Kenya's creative industries.

The Founders

Starting small, thinking big.

We're a small team of researchers, technologists, and cultural economists who believe Kenya's creative industries deserve the same quality of data infrastructure that other sectors take for granted.

Our backgrounds span development economics, data science, policy advocacy, and the creative arts themselves. We've seen the gap firsthand — and we're building the tools to close it.

As we grow, we'll introduce our team properly. For now, the work speaks.

We're Hiring

Help us build the infrastructure.

We're looking for people who are passionate about data, culture, and economic justice. If you believe Kenya's creative economy deserves better — we want to hear from you.

We're especially interested in researchers, data engineers, policy analysts, and community builders who understand the creative landscape across Kenya.

What We're Building

Three pillars of work that will define our first chapter.
